Repair to concrete diving boards

repair to diving board

Client

Central Baths, Reading Borough Council

Project Details

Repair to insitu concrete diving boards where extensive concrete spalling had taken place due to exposure to high chlorinated atmosphere. Application of anti carbonation coating to concrete surfaces on completion of repairs.

Product Selection:

Concrete repairs to be undertaken using Belzona 4411 Magma Build, a lightweight repair mortar. This product enabled full depth repairs (over 100mm in some places) to be undertaken in one labour operation. The subsequent application of an anti-carbonation coating utilised Belzona 5151 Hi-Build Cladding.

Interesting Points:

The high temperatures and humidity from the main swimming pool, (which remained open), required temperature control precautions in undertaking both the concrete repairs and the subsequent decorative coating application.
